This is a 1-day course run several times a year (see How to Apply for dates and details about our scheduled dates for this course) for Qualified riders who wish to improve their skills under the guidance of the most successful point-to-point rider of all time, Derek O’Connor and our team of RACE instructors. This course is funded by CARE and delivered by RACE.
Few sports offer such highly skilled training for FREE (generously funded by HRI). As well as our team of Instructors, students receive tuition and feedback from multiple champion Point-to-Point rider, Derek O’Connor. Derek has ridden more than 1,300 point-to-point winners and he is acknowledged as the most talented rider ever to ride in point-to-points. Derek also has a talent for teaching as he has proved through the success of this course. The objective of this course is to improve the technical and tactical riding skills of Qualified riders and to understand the importance of fitness and race-riding preparation. This course is very popular and restricted to just 6 riders per course. Early registration is advised and you can register an interest for future courses if scheduled courses are full.
One Day 8am – 4.30pm – lunch provided at RACE
Three Ridden Lots – 2 lots at RACE and 1 Lot at the Curragh Schooling Grounds. Schooling over jumps for all lots.
