Using examples and case studies from the <strong>racing and equine industries<\/strong>, participants gain confidence in navigating the key steps of entrepreneurship\u2014from idea generation to basic financial planning and compliance.<\/p>\n<p>Ideal for aspiring entrepreneurs, freelancers, sole traders, and self\u2011employed individuals in the racing sector.<\/p>\n<h1>What&#8217;s Covered?<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li>Describe the core steps involved in starting a business, including idea validation and market research.<\/li>\n<li>Develop a simple business model and value proposition.<\/li>\n<li>Understand legal structures, registration steps, and basic compliance obligations (Ireland\u2011based but adaptable).<\/li>\n<li>Create basic financial plans, including start\u2011up costs, pricing, and cash\u2011flow forecasting.<\/li>\n<li>Identify marketing channels, especially low\u2011cost digital tools relevant to small businesses.<\/li>\n<li>Build a simple action plan to move from idea to implementation.<\/li>\n<li>Recognise key business supports, grants, and enterprise resources available in the racing industry and wider sector.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Eligibility Criteria:<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li>Be 18+ years old<\/li>\n<li>Have intermediate English (B1 or higher)<\/li>\n<li>Have basic digital skills for online learning<\/li>\n<li>Have an interest in exploring self-employment<\/li>\n<li>Have access to a device (Tablet, PC, Laptop) and internet for online modules<\/li>\n<li>No formal qualifications required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>When Is The Course Delivered?<\/h1>\n<p>This course is delivered hybrid over a 5 week period.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Thursday, 5th November, 14:00 &#8211; 16:00 &#8211; Face-to-face delivery in RACE<\/li>\n<li>Thursday, 12th November, 18:00 &#8211; 20:00 &#8211; Online delivery<\/li>\n<li>Thursday, 19th November, 15:00 &#8211; 17:00 &#8211; Face-to-face delivery in RACE<\/li>\n<li>Thursday, 26th November, 19:00 &#8211; 20:00 &#8211; Online delivery<\/li>\n<li>Wednesday, 2nd December, 19:00 &#8211; 20:00 &#8211; Online delivery<\/li>\n<li>Thursday, 3rd December, 10:00 &#8211; 16:00 &#8211; Face-to-face delivery in RACE<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All dates must be attended.<\/p>\n<h1>How To Apply:<\/h1>\n<p>Application are open!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><a title=\"Application Form\" href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/CNmK4yUYyVJtdsaL8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Apply here!<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Applications close: COB Monday, 19th October 2026<\/span><\/p>\n<h1>What is the Cost of The Course?<\/h1>\n<p>The course is fully funded by Kildare County Council \/ Local Enterprise Office Kildare.
