RACE deliver the course on behalf of Horse Racing Ireland (Equuip), and it has been their decision to re-structure the course to best suit the needs of the Industry. As a result, this course is now on hold until further notice.

The Racing Secretary course is a part-time course delivered in 6 afternoons over 3 weeks. The course is delivered online via Zoom sessions and supported with an online course page. There area 6 modules covered:
Health and Safety
CV and Interview Preparedness
There are assessments associated with each module, including assignments and exams. You must attend all sessions and complete all assessments to successfully complete the course and receive certification. You must have access to a device with a camera and mic to attend the online sessions and you must have access to Microsoft Word and Excel to complete the assessments.
The course will give you the necessary knowledge and skills to apply for a role as a racing secretary in a horse racing yard. If you are already working in this role, but would like to upskill and improve your knowledge, this course will also allow you to do that.

What is the cost of the course?
The course is currently supported by Equuip (Industry Education and Training via HRI) but you must pay a fee of €25 to secure a place.
